How to Add Friends to Activity Sharing From Your iPhone

When you invite a friend to Activity Sharing, you’ll be able to see their progress on their daily rings, monitor their workouts, send encouraging messages, and vice versa.

To add friends to Activity Sharing from your iPhone, open the “Activity” app on your iPhone, and go to the “Sharing” tab. If asked, tap on the “Get Started” button.

From the Sharing screen, tap on the “+” button from the top-right corner.

Here, search for a contact with an Apple Watch to add them to activity sharing.

Once you find a contact (you can add multiple contacts at once), tap on the “Send” button.

Your friend will receive a notification asking if they want to share their activity with you. Once they enable the feature, their activity data will show up in your Sharing screen.

How to Add Friends to Activity Sharing From Your Apple Watch

You can also complete this process from your Apple Watch. Press the Digital Crown on the side of your Apple Watch to open the apps list.

Here, select the “Activity” app. Now, swipe down to the bottom of the screen and tap on the “Invite A Friend” option.

You’ll see a list of all your contacts. Scroll through and tap on the contact you want to invite.

You’ll now see their name listed in the “Invited” section. Once they accept your invite, you’ll receive a notification saying that they are now sharing their activity data with you.

How to Compete With Friends on iPhone

Once the activity sharing feature is enabled, you can invite a friend for a week-long competition.

Open the “Activity” app once from on your iPhone. From the “Sharing” screen, tap on your friend’s name.

Here, swipe down and tap on the “Compete With [Friend]” button.

From the popup, tap on the “Invite [Friend]” button.

You can also tap on the “View The Rules” button to see the competition rules. You get a point for every percent you add to your rings each day. The competition lasts for seven days, and you can earn up to 600 points each day.

At the end of the week, whoever has the highest score, wins.

When your friend accepts the challenge, you’ll see a notification about it on your iPhone or Apple Watch. The competition will begin on the next day.

You’ll receive updates on your Apple Watch when your friend finishes workouts, and you’ll see the scores at the beginning of each day.

To view detailed data at any given time, open the “Sharing” section in the Activity app and go to your friend’s screen.

At the end of the week, you’ll get a notification showing who won the competition.

You can also go to your friend’s page in the “Sharing” section to find out the results and keep track of all competition results from the past.

How to Compete With Friends on Apple Watch

To start a competition with a friend from your Apple Watch, go back to the “Activity” app. Scroll down to the “Sharing” section and tap on the name of your friend. Here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap on the “Compete” button.

From the next screen, tap on the “Invite [Friend]” button.

The invite for the week-long challenge will be sent to your friend. Once they accept it, you’ll be able to monitor your progress right from the Activity app.
