Instagram is a great way to share photos and videos with friends and family, but it can also be a tool for hiding your activity status. If you want to keep your whereabouts secret, here are some tips on how to do so. First, make sure that your profile is set to private. This will prevent people from seeing your posts unless they are following you or you have shared them with them specifically. If you want to keep your posts hidden from specific people, you can add a privacy setting for those individuals. Just go to the settings menu on Instagram and select “Privacy” under “Account Settings”. From here, you can choose who can see your posts and who cannot. You can also hide your posts from search results by adding a hashtag that only you and people you follow will see. For example, if you want to hide a post about going out with friends but still want it visible on Instagram search results, add the hashtag #hiddenfromsearchresults when sharing it. ..

Instagram recently added a new option that allows other users to see when you were last active on the service in their direct messages. If you’re not into letting everyone on the planet know what you’re up to every minute of the day, you can disable it pretty easily.

First, open the Instagram app, then jump over to your profile by tapping the last icon in the navigation bar.

You’ll need to head into the Settings menu—on iOS, it’s a little cog icon beside the “Edit profile” button. On Android, tap the three buttons in the upper right corner.

From there, just scroll down to the bottom of the “Settings” section until you find an option labeled “Show Activity Status.” Disable that joker.

It’s worth mentioning that if you choose to hide your activity status, you won’t be able to see other users’ statuses either. I guess Instagram wants this to be a two-way street. Heh.
